The Republic of San Marino hinges its history on the liberty and the independence. The tradition recalls the birth of the State 301 after Christ at resulting the most ancient Republic of the world. It belongs to the U.N., of the Coucil of Europe and from December 2014 has started with the European Union a negotiation to come to an accord of association. From 2008 the historical center of San Marino and the Titano mountain have entered in to the list of the world Heritage of Unesco as a secular model of a representative democracy founded upon the civic autonomy and the self-government. Inserted since December 29 th 2014 in the OECD white list, from a couple of years San Marino is also present in the classification “doing business” of the World Bank. The economic initiative is free, but some types of licenses are to reserved regime and therefore the release is subject to a preventive authorization from the government of San Marino. Also the tourism develops an important role in the economy of the Country: The 2015 data underline a growth in comparison to the preceding year of the 5,2% of tourists in the Republic, overcoming the 2 million of visitors.
